An Awesome Phone Call

I had the awesome privilege to speak with the Executive Pastor of Celebration Church David Branker. I have been wanting to speak with someone there to hear about their story and how they got their start. Pastor David was awesome enough to spend about an hour of his time answering some of my questions and giving me some great insight into planting a church. He did give me some great resources.

Two Books:

Visioneering - By Andy Stanley

Unstoppable Force- By Erwin McManus

The other really cool resource that we spoke about was the Association of Related Churches of (ARC). This is a group of churches that help church planters get started and keep going.

Excitement

I received a phone call this afternoon from one of the Pastoral Assistants at Celebration Church in Jacksonville Fl. I have been trying to get in touch with them to talk about their vision and how they got started. I am happy to say that I actually get to do that tomorrow at 10 am.

Please pray that the phone call goes well.

Good evening.

God’s Unmerited Favor

This post has nothing to do with me, but it was too good not to share.

We were with some families at our home group meeting and sharing some testimonies of how God has provided for us. One of our families had a great testimony of God’s provision. The husband is a car salesman and if you know anything about sales it is usually all commission based. The man has proven himself and has allowed God to use him in his place of work and because of that God is giving him some favor. His boss brought him in to his office and told him that he was going to put him on a yearly salary. Not only that, everything that he sold beyond his salary, he was getting commission on. Talk about favor.

This reminded me of just how much God really loves us and how He is constantly looking out for us. When we are faithful to do what God has called us to do and are diligent in the pursuit of Him, He is always ready to bless us.

A Cool Perspective

Last night I read a book called “Dinner with a Perfect Stranger” by David Gregory. Let me say that this little book was a unique way of looking at how God aligns His perfect timing. After I was finished I was reminded that God will used any and every way to get our attention. He will speak to us in a way that we will understand, and He is always giving the invitation to sit down with Him. The one thing that gets in the way of that invitation is us. We live such a fast pace life that we forget about the most important relationship; our relationship with God.

Food for thought; if you were given and invitation to have dinner with Jesus would you have time?
